Reports say that the Cleveland Browns are interested in talking to the agent for quarterback Trent Green about a contract that would interest him into coming to Cleveland. Phil Savage stated on Thursday that the Browns want to talk to Jim Steiner, Green’s agent, about bringing the 36-year-old Chiefs quarterback to Cleveland. Green, who is due to make $7.2 million this season with the Chiefs, has stated that the only team he wants to be traded to is the Miami Dolphins. Savage also said that a deal for Green may not take place until draft day.
The Browns also over the past few days have had a chance to get to know a couple of players that they are looking at with their possible third pick in the upcoming draft. Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn, LSU QB JaMarcus Russell and Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson all have visited Berea this past week. The three were in town to talk to the Browns about the possibility of being their first choice in the upcoming Draft. Quinn, from Dublin, Ohio also had Browns officials at his workout last month in South Bend, Indiana. The Browns, with the 3rd pick in the draft, have already stated they are going with an offensive player with their first pick.
