Monday NFL Week 16 Predictions

NY Jets at Miami – The Jets have won 3 of 4 and are playing like a team with a real shot at the playoffs. Last week Chad Pennington looked like the Pennington of 2003, throwing for 339 yards in a win over the Vikings. New York topped Miami 20-17 back on Octobver 15th, and now Pennington is 5-1 against the Fins. Miami has been up and down the last two weeks, shutting out the Pats two weeks ago 21-0, and last week getting shut out 21-0 in Buffalo. Joey Harrington will remain the Dolphins starter even though he was 5 of 17 last week for 20 yards and two picks. The Fins play better at home, going 4-3, and their 3rd ranked D tends to play well in front of the home crowd. I think things will be tougher for Pennington and the Jets here, and the Dolphins with a returning Ronnie Brown will play this as their Super Bowl. Miami 23 NY Jets 20

Philadelphia at Dallas – The Eagles are 3-1 with Jeff Garcia at QB, but the Cowboys have a gunslinger of their own in Tony Romo, who last week vs the Falcons rebounded to play well and lead the Cowboys to a 38-28 win.  Garcia had his moments last week in the Eagles win in New York, but we all know that those mistakes vs the Cowboys will kill the Eagles this time.  Dallas has been solid on offense, and good enough on defense, and yes, TO will want some after the Cowboys lost to Philly in week 5.  I think Dallas has too much to play for, and even with the nice story in Garcia, Dallas is the better team.  Dallas 31 Philadelphia 24
