I for one am already tired of the speculation that Steelers coach Bill Cowher is going to step aside at the end of this season. He does have two years left on his deal, and the Steelers are in the middle of getting set to defend their title. Hasen’t this team already had enough to deal with in the offseason? From Big Ben and the motorcycle, to the walking away by Bettis, to the law problems by Holmes, it seems like the team is not off to all that great of a start. As far as Cowher, he stated on Monday that last night Jerome Bettis stating on NBC that he would step aside at the end of the year was pure speculation. I don’t know. Part of me thinks that Bettis is right, the other part thinks its Cowher wanting to be paid the highest possible amount that a head coach can be paid. Does Cowher deserve to be paid as the highest coach in the league? Yes. Will he? That is still anyones guess.
